The Benny™ Card

No More Waiting

The Benny™ Card is a debit card for the Health Care FSA. The card will pay for expenses at any merchant who accepts MasterCard® and is an allowable provider. The Benny Card enables you to pay for eligible expenses directly from your Health Care FSA so you don’t have to wait for reimbursement.

Swipe Away

The Health Care FSA account is electronically debited whenever you use the card. IRS regulations still require you to send documentation to verify the eligibility of the expense. With our RetroBenny system, we’ve made it simple to comply with this requirement.

RetroBenny

With RetroBenny, you’ll receive a special claim form designed specifically for your Benny Card swipes. This form is pre-populated with your information, service dates and transaction amounts. This form will be emailed to you each month. You will need to return the RetroBenny form with documentation showing the date, type and cost of service to maintain use of the Benny Card.

Deadlines

Benny Card transactions that have not been verified through RetroBenny will result in suspension of your card. You have up to the end of the month plus a five (5) day grace period to submit your RetroBenny form and supporting documentation. The Benny Card cannot be reactivated until all outstanding transactions are verified.

Valid Merchants

The card is accepted at any allowable merchant using the MasterCard® system. This includes:

  • Doctor's Offices
  • Dental / Vision Clinics
  • Hospitals
  • Pharmacies
  • Mail Order Rx Programs
  • Drug Stores

Lost Receipts

A card swipe that cannot be verified due to a lost receipt will need to be settled before your card can be used again. It will be your responsibility to reimburse the plan by writing a check to Flex-Plan Services in the amount of your undocumented claims.

Ineligible Expenses

Any card swipe for an ineligible expense will result in a card suspension to prevent further use. The card will be reactivated once you have reimbursed the plan for the ineligible expense.

Troubleshooting

A card transaction can be denied at the merchant for several possible reasons:

  • The card is suspended due to a prior transaction.
  • The card was never activated.
  • The card swipe is more than the available Health Care FSA balance.

If you have problems with your card, please contact us.
